The best answer I can give about what I do is that I try to be a kind of musical translator. As an improviser with a background in Anthropology and a commitment to social justice, my work is about finding connections between people and music, and finding ways to demystify those sounds by getting listeners and players involved in them: whether it's North Indian music or Free improvisation or Classical music.
